Our Visit with Laney

We had a blast. She is so cute and smart and well-behaved. She handled having Brad, Nikki, Jennifer and I all wanting her at the same time really well. Her mom and family were friendly and her mom took us all out to dinner. It was too short and I want see her again really soon. She said the only thing that wasn't perfect about spending the 4th of July with her dad's side of the family is that Grandpa Barry wasn't there. She needs to see him! She doesn't remember him but loves talking to him on the phone. I thank God for the blessing of having Laney in our lives.

Today has been an interesting day! Barry's mom had a bad nosebleed in the middle of the night. She ended up going to the ER by ambulance this morning. They put a balloon in her nose to stop the bleeding. Barry said she was really out of it, which is a blessing. Her blood sugar was okay and he took her home. He let me sleep and went by himself so I would be rested for the airplane trip to see Laney. The owner of the home she lives in called and said the balloon was coming out so Barry has to take her back to the hospital after work. She is eating and is not bleeding, but the balloon needs to stay in for now.

I got packed this morning and we are leaving at 3 am tomorrow. I am very excited to see my granddaughter. She is now 5 years old and I haven't seen her since she was was 2. Jennifer and Brad and Nikki will be with us. We are renting a hotel room with a pool. It's in the 90's so we'll love swimming in the pool. We have special plans for fireworks on July 4th. We head home on the 5th. Should be a great time.
